Cost of illness analysis is a method that identifies and predicts direct and indirect costs of a disease or health condition in society. The main objective is to determine costs of a disease or health condition. In recent years, the rapid developing of healthcare products and treatments while scarce budgets for the health sector led to an increased interest in the economic evaluation of health care products, interventions and programs. Cost of illness analysis guides to health care decision makers for allocation of scarce resources.
