ABSTRACT

mTOR pathway regulates many essential functions such as cell proliferation and growth. It has been investigated and targeted as a treatment in many research fields such as oncology, cardiology, neurology, and organ transplantation. mTOR also regulates immune system and the role of mTOR pathway in rheumatology has been elucidated in the last decade. The aims of this review are to better recognize mTOR pathway and to draw attention to the increasing importance of mTOR inhibitors in rheumatology.
